Blue Star Leopard Wrasse

Blue Star Leopard Wrasse

Snapshot: Also known as the Vermiculite, or Divided Wrasse. Females and juveniles flaunt a pearly white bod, splashed with orange, yellow, brown, and neon blue spots, plus a bold blue-to-black belly blotch. Males are full neon — electric green and blue with edgy black stripes slicing through.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 13cm or so. Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean and West Indian Ocean. They're tough to acclimate, expert aquarists only!

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium. Mature and well-established aquarium with plenty of live rock. Thick, fine sandy substrate. Expert aquarists only.

  • Aquarium set-up: This beauty demands a well established tank that is spacious and decked out with ample live rock for hideouts and hunting. Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
