Conspicuous Angelfish
Snapshot: This is one seriously eye-catching fish, and its colour palette is anything but subtle. Adults sport a gorgeous blue-grey back that fades into a dusky shade underneath, while the face turns a vibrant yellow, beautifully framed with electric-blue markings around the eye.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 25cm or so. Distributed throughout the southern Great Barrier Reef to the central New South Wales coast and from New Caledonia, Norfolk and Lord Howe Islands. This ridiculously good-looking fish is highly prized by aquarists.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or fish-only system. Larger size aquarium needed.
