Disappearing Wrasse
Snapshot: This is a deep red beauty with faint stripes and a cool blue mark under each eye.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 7cm or so. Distributed throughout the Indian Ocean and the Western Pacific Ocean. It is a natural pest hunter, snacking on flatworms, bristleworms, and clam parasites (perfect for your reef tank!).
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.
Aquarium set-up: Think loads of live rock for exploring and a deep sandy bed for it to dive into, whether it’s chilling, hiding, or grabbing a snack on the go! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes. And don't forget the lid — these acrobats are known to make daring leaps from open aquariums! Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
