French Angelfish
Snapshot: Juveniles sport a sleek, dark brown or black body, with three bold yellow bands running vertically from head to tail. A vibrant yellow band also encircles their mouth. As they mature, their scales have a golden-yellow edge, a stunning contrast against their predominantly black body.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to a whopping 41cm or so! Native to the waters of the Western Atlantic Ocean from Florida south to Brazil. Also found in the tropical waters of the Caribbean. A beloved favorite among aquarists as they watch it transform from juvenile to adulthood.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or fish-only system. Larger size aquarium needed.
