Kuiter's Leopard Wrasse
Snapshot: In their early stages, they sport an orange-red base with bluish-white leopard spots and a small black spot behind the eye. As males mature, the black eye spot fades, replaced by a green and orange circle, with orange dominating the body color.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 10cm or so. Native to the waters of the Indian Ocean and the tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Bare bones must know: Best suited to a reef aquarium. Best purchased as juveniles in groups of three or more. Thick, sandy substrate. Expert aquarists only.
Aquarium set-up: Start with a spacious setup, complete with live rock and mature deep sand bed for burrowing. Mimic its natural habitat with open sandy spaces and consider a wavemaker for reef-like currents. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
