Long Finned Goby (Pair)
Snapshot: This goby has a soft grey body with five bold, blue-edged bars that stretch to its sides. It also has snazzy pink waves down its back.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 18cm or so. Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean, around Australia, Japan, Indonesia, East Pacific, New Zealand, Central/West Pacific.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock, fish-only system or reef aquarium. Thick, sandy substrate required. Thrives best when paired up (male and female, of course).
Aquarium set-up: Give this fish a spacious aquarium and a snug lid to keep it from leaping out! This species loves to shake things up by rearranging rocks and sand! Make sure those rocks are securely anchored to the substrate to keep the fun safe. These fish should be kept in a well run aquarium where they can "graze" algae from rocks and stones. A sandy paradise with coral, shells, and bits of broken shells is perfect for their funky hole-digging. This fish loves the micro party so ensure your tank has copepods, amphipods, and the like, and it'll feast like a king, snacking on that endless buffet of tiny critters. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your royal goby highness happy with a diverse diet of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, flake food, marine-based algae and shrimp pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
