Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse
Snapshot: The male wrasses are bursting with bright yellow and red, and accented with flashes of blue, brown, and white. Meanwhile, the females keep it cool and understated compared to their flashy counterparts.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 8cm or so. Distributed throughout Australia and Indonesian waters.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system or reef aquarium. Thick, sandy substrate.
Acquarium set-up: You'll need lots of space, decked out with ample live rock for hideouts and hunting. Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. And don't forget a secure lid — they're jumpers! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
