Orange-spotted Filefish
Snapshot: The Orange-spotted Filefish sports a chunky, oblong body wrapped in deep chocolate-brown tones, splashed with fine orange lines, tiny orange spots, and sometimes, bold striping that funnels toward the tail.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 20cm or so. Distributed throughout the Mexican Golf, West Atlantic.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.
Aquarium set-up: This species craves cozy hideouts, like snug spots between live rocks, to chill and feel safe. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: This fish loves to chow down and needs to be fed multiple times a day, especially when it's just moved into its new pad.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
