Oreni Tilefish
Snapshot: Considered one of the Holy Grails of aquarium keeping, this Tilefish is a true gem from the Malacanthidae family. Unlike its shy cousins, this beauty is bold, rare, peaceful, photogenic, and oozing with personality — making it a must-have for any tank.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 20cm or so. Distributed throughout the West Indian Ocean.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system, or reef aquarium with care.
Aquarium set-up: This demersal wonder loves the bottom of your tank, digging burrows or mounds to chill in when it feels threatened. So, load up on substrate to keep it comfy and secure! This active swimmer needs some serious space and protect your investment by slapping a cover on your tank to keep it safe and sound! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: This Dartfish loves to feast on a mix of marine fish, crustacean flesh, and Mysis shrimp — served up two or three times a day to keep it fueled and fabulous!
