Rainbow Fairy Wrasse
Snapshot: This is a stunning, extraordinary coloured species of wrasse, with accents of blue, yellow, orange, and red.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 11cm or so. Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean, Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Central/West Pacific Ocean. A bit high-maintenance when it comes to travel and also when settling into its new aquarium digs.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system or reef aquarium. Thick, sandy substrate.
Acquarium set-up: You'll need lots of space, decked out with ample live rock for hideouts and hunting. Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. And don't forget a secure lid — they're jumpers! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
