Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse
Snapshot: This wrasse has a striking blue body accented by a vivid red dorsal edge and a radiant yellow-orange face.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 13cm or so. Native to the tropical waters of the Western Central Pacific Ocean including Indonesia and Christmas Island. Mood-dependent variations may shift their colors to blues and purples.
Bare bones must know: Best suited to reef aquariums, with care. Thick, sandy substrate.
Aquarium set-up: This stunner requires a spacious tank, decked out with plenty of live rock for hideouts and hunting. Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. Don't forget the lid, they're jumpers! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
