Shark Fin Naoko's Fairy Wrasse
Snapshot: The male is the true showstopper — brighter and flashier than the female — with vivid red, yellow, and white hues.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 10cm or so. Distributed throughout the Indian Ocean. Named in honor of Naoko Ida, wife of a Japanese fish collector, this species carries her legacy in style.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system or reef aquarium. Thick, sandy substrate.
Acquarium set-up: You'll need lots of space, decked out with ample live rock for hideouts and hunting. Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. And don't forget a secure lid — they're jumpers! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
