Threadfin Butterflyfish

Snapshot: This beauty has striking colours, flowing dorsal “thread,” and eye-catching patterns. Some Red Sea specimens even lose the famous fake eyespot on their dorsal fin, giving them an even sleeker look.
 
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 23cm or so. Distributed throughout East Indian Ocean, West Indian Ocean, Australia, Japan, The Red Sea, Indonesia, East Pacific, Central/West Pacific.
 
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef system with care. Mature and well established aquariums only. Stable, top-notch water quality.
