Tripletail Maori Wrasse
Snapshot: This fish struts a greenish-to-brownish body bedazzled with vertical red and green stripes. Its head and chest are splashed with orange-red dots and wild, zigzagging lines.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to a whopping 45cm or so. Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean, West Indian Ocean, Australia, Japan, The Red Sea, Indonesia, East Pacific, Central/West Pacific Ocean.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care. Larger sized aquarium needed.
Aquarium set-up: This fish loves rearranging rocks and sand, so make sure any decor is locked down tight. Give it a tank with plenty of room to swim and lots of secret hideouts (live rock crevices are perfect). Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
