True Shepard's Angelfish

True Shepard's Angelfish

Snapshot: Also known as the Mango Angelfish, this a fiery little gem from the remote reefs of the Western Pacific . At first glance, it might pass for a Coral Beauty, but this stunner flips the script with bold orange and yellow hues, accented by just a touch of blue and purple around the fins and upper body.

Other tidbits: Can grow up to 8cm or so. Distributed throughout the Western Pacific Ocean including around Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands; and sometimes found around the Izu Islands of Japan.

Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.

  • Aquarium set-up: This stunner demands a well-established spacious tank, brimming with live rock for grazing. Angelfish crave cozy hideouts for safety and snoozing. Create their secret sanctuaries in your tank for peace of mind and happy fish. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine partial water changes.

Feeding: Angelfish are omnivorous champs. Keep 'em happy with a smorgasbord of high-quality marine flakes, nutrient-rich algae like nori, live treats, and frozen crustaceans like brine or mysis shrimp, and top-notch frozen blends.

AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
