Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse
Snapshot: This standout wrasse sports a fiery red top, a white belly, and a bold yellow dorsal fin edged in electric blue — sometimes longer than its body.
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 9cm or so. Distributed throughout the Indian Ocean.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish only system or reef aquarium. Thick, sandy substrate.
Acquarium set-up: You'll need lots of space, decked out with ample live rock for hideouts and hunting. Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble. And don't forget a secure lid — they're jumpers! Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
