Yellowfin Wrasse
Snapshot: Adult male Yellowfin Flasher Wrasses flaunt vivid red bodies with blue accents and a subtle stripe down their tail. Their signature move? One to four red-orange dorsal filaments that flash white or yellow during courtship!
Other tidbits: Can grow up to 8cm or so. Distributed throughout the East Indian Ocean, Australia, and Indonesia.
Bare bones must know: Live-rock fish-only system, or reef aquarium with care.
Aquarium set-up: These shy little rockstars love to lay low while they get comfy in their new digs — so let them chill and don’t bug them, or the settling-in party drags on. They crave cozy hideouts, especially between live rocks, and are super sensitive to travel and tank moves. Maintain an aquatic utopia by nailing the basics: rock-solid water quality with top-notch filtration and routine water changes. And don't forget the lid — these acrobats are known to make daring leaps from open aquariums! Wrasses love their comfort — give them a cozy fine sandbed to burrow into when they need a snooze or sense trouble.
Feeding: Keep your Wrasse in top form with a gourmet diet of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis and brine shrimp, alongside high-quality marine flakes and pellets.
AQT note: All our fish feast on a diet of seaweed, marine pellets, flakes and frozen treats under our care. Keep the feast going in your tank!
